I joined a writing challenge where we had to write everyday for 21 days. But alas, today I woke up and I was blank. I didn’t know what to do. I had listened to fellow writers and had created a virtual notebook for ideas but I would look at the ideas and feel nothing. AT ALL. I started feeling very bad about myself and how here I am, a writer with nothing to write about. So I did the only thing I could do, I whatsapped the writers group and told them what was going on. And everyone was like…I never have writers block!! In fact, I have so many ideas. I just don’t have enough time to write them. What??!!! How can that be?

My writing group leader went on to say,” Patricia, your problem is that you are overthinking it. Just write!” Do not restrict yourself. There is so much to write about. Sometimes we as people are looking too far for ideas yet the ideas are just before us. God is giving us ideas every single day. It can be the smile of a baby. The beauty of a rising sun or even the birds chirping outside your window. Inspiration is everywhere if only I would open my eyes to see clearly.
I thought about it. And it was true!! This is in relation to writing but it can be in relation to anything else, be it music, dance, whatever it is. We just need to open our eyes and ears to what God is saying and He is speaking all the time. The question is Am I willing to be a willing conduit? A willing channel?

God is the creator of creation and He is speaking to us all the time. He is ever present but if we are not tuned to Him, we will miss Him. It’s like being on an FM station when the program you need is on an AM station. You are not gonna get it no matter how long you turn those knobs. You have to tune to the right frequency. And what tunes us? It’s a word called, ’Purpose’. We need to stay tuned to what God is placing in us as a mandate. And then everything we do is simply a channel for His purpose. We are a channel. That’s exactly who I am. This is me! Come on, say it with me- This is me!
